After you purchase and install our Referral Tracking for Gravity Forms or Google Ads Tracker for Gravity Forms plugin, you may want to test your forms to be sure they are properly gathering referral data. Here are the steps to do that!
- Open an Incognito window in Chrome or a Private window in Safari. This is an important step, because you need to test the form as a real user would, and without any extensions or existing cookies interferring.
- Next, enter the domain name of your website followed by the ?gclid=test parameter. For example, if your website is https://domain.com, the test URL would be https://domain.com/?gclid=test.
- Navigate to your form and submit it.
- In WordPress Admin, navigate to Forms>Entries and choose the appropriate form in the dropdown at the top of the page to view its entries.
- Click on your test entry. If you’re using our Google Ads Tracker for Gravity Forms plugin, you should see the Google Ads field with a “Yes” value and the Google Ads GCLID field with a “test” value. If you’re using our Referral Tracking for Gravity Forms plugin, you should see the Source field populated with “Google Ads” and Referral Parameters showing the “gclid=test” value.
The following videos walk you through the easy five-minute installation process and the test as outlined above. If you have any questions, please submit a ticket, and we’ll be happy to help!
